More Than a DO Booster
Maintain dissolved oxygen. Support biological treatment. Help manage oxygen-related odors.
OXIMIXER® combines dissolved oxygen monitoring with demand-based oxygen supply to help wastewater operators manage treatment conditions and identify opportunities to optimize aeration.

OXYGEN ON
A compatible controller compares measured DO with the setpoint and operates connected equipment according to configured control logic.
Key Benefits of OXIMIXER®
A practical oxygen-management approach for biological wastewater treatment. Results depend on plant design, wastewater characteristics and correct operation.
Demand-Based DO Control
Monitor dissolved oxygen and control supply according to a configured setpoint as oxygen demand changes.
Potential Energy Optimization
May reduce unnecessary aeration where the existing system over-aerates. Include all connected equipment when measuring power use.
Support Biological Treatment
Suitable DO supports aerobic microorganisms that break down biodegradable organic matter.
Help Manage Odor
Maintaining suitable oxygen conditions can help prevent some odors associated with oxygen-deficient or anaerobic zones.
Support BOD & COD Reduction
Improved oxygen availability can support BOD and biodegradable COD removal when oxygen is limiting the process.
Process Visibility
Continuous DO display and configurable alarms can help operators identify low-oxygen conditions.
Why conventional aeration may struggle
Blowers and aerators are essential in many wastewater plants, but fixed-speed operation, clogged diffusers, air leaks or uneven mixing can make oxygen delivery inefficient.
- Excessive aeration can waste electricity.
- Insufficient oxygen can weaken biological treatment.
- Stagnant or anaerobic zones can contribute to odor formation.
- Changing wastewater loads can make manual settings difficult.
How OXIMIXER works
A DO sensor measures dissolved oxygen in the tank.
The controller compares the reading with the setpoint.
Connected equipment responds to configured control logic.
Operators review readings and tune the process when needed.
Potential Treatment Improvements
OXIMIXER can support a well-designed biological process, but it does not replace every treatment stage.
| Area | How oxygen management may help | Important note |
|---|---|---|
| BOD | Supports aerobic breakdown of biodegradable organic matter when oxygen is limiting. | Confirm with influent and effluent laboratory tests. |
| COD | May improve removal of the biodegradable portion of organic pollution. | Refractory compounds may need additional treatment. |
| Odor | May help prevent some odors associated with anaerobic conditions. | Other odor sources may require dedicated treatment. |
| Sludge | Stable biology may help process management and may reduce some avoidable costs. | Biological sludge still forms and must be managed; zero sludge is not guaranteed. |
| Minerals / TDS | DO control alone generally does not remove dissolved salts or minerals. | Use suitable processes such as reverse osmosis, ion exchange or targeted treatment when required. |
Reduce chemical dependency where appropriate
Better oxygen management may reduce the need for selected odor-control or process-correction chemicals in suitable plants. It does not mean every ETP can operate without chemicals.
Applications
- Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) and CETP
- Food and beverage processing
- Rendering, meat, poultry and fish processing
- Textile and selected industrial wastewater
- Municipal wastewater biological treatment

Frequently Asked Questions
Can OXIMIXER reduce BOD and COD?
It can support biological BOD and biodegradable COD removal when oxygen availability limits the process. Verify actual results through sampling and laboratory testing.
Will it eliminate bad smell?
It may help reduce odors associated with oxygen-deficient conditions. Existing sulfides, volatile chemicals or other sources may need additional measures.
Will we no longer need chemicals?
Not necessarily. The system may reduce selected chemical requirements, but other treatment stages may still need chemicals.
Does it remove dissolved minerals or TDS?
Oxygen boosting alone does not generally remove dissolved salts or minerals. Specific treatment technology is required when this is a goal.
Can it guarantee zero sludge?
No. Biological treatment produces biomass, and sludge management remains necessary. Any reduction should be demonstrated with plant data.
